Windows 11 has just updated their take on this pestilential crap. 😡 In any case, here’s how to turn this stuff off.

That artist is the founder of Cara by the way (https://cara.app/zemotion/all).

Cara is the only art platform I have found that not only prohibits AI art from being uploaded on the site, but also offers their users to Glaze their art (which protects them from ai mimicry). They are also working on implementing Nightshade, which actively poisons ai training.

I have used Cara for a couple of months now, and I hope more people check it out. It’s really nice. 💚

We need these kinds of places for artists, and it’s also FREE (despite the staff paying out of their own pockets to keep it running).

reblogging this as I was just complaining about the rampant AI usage on pinterest yesterday lol

Even if you’re not an artist, I highly recommend signing up just to lurk because it’s been such a lovely wholesome experience free of the noise and brainrot that comes with the ads and reels on instagram. As a writer I think it has a niche for connecting authors with cover designers and illustrators. I’m documenting my experience in this thread if anyone wants to follow along!

“I love you but you’re doing wrong in a way I cannot condone” and “I hate you but you’re being wronged in a way I cannot stomach” are top tier and I need more of them.

Stop looking back at yourself with such disdain it’s literally more cringe than whatever you were doing wrong back then

i think some of you dont like narratives or stories or characters i think you just like fanfiction tropes

protagonists can and will be sexist, racist, insensitive, cruel, stupid, etc, especially towards the beginning of a story. these are called character flaws and they are a surprise tool that will lead to narrative fulfillment later

“It turns out, he wasn’t. In recent months, YouTube has secretly used artificial intelligence (AI) to tweak people’s videos without letting them know or asking permission. Wrinkles in shirts seem more defined. Skin is sharper in some places and smoother in others. Pay close attention to ears, and you may notice them warp. These changes are small, barely visible without a side-by-side comparison. Yet some disturbed YouTubers say it gives their content a subtle and unwelcome AI-generated feeling.

There’s a larger trend at play. A growing share of reality is pre-processed by AI before it reaches us. Eventually, the question won’t be whether you can tell the difference, but whether it’s eroding our ties to the world around us.”

You know this shit is going to end up being racist too. There’s so much racist content online that AI keeps turning racist from it. Like it’s gonna start with smoothing out shirt wrinkles and next thing you know its making people’s skin lighter.

I don’t understand why they are doing this. What benefit does undiversifying their content offer youtube. They’re already saturated with AI-looking AI videos for people who want that. Why utterly ruin their other content without the consent of the people who made it and put it on their platform. “Oh users will like the AI look more” then they will watch the infinite stream of AI content that you already have. This is like that part in The Cube where they’re like “why did they even put a bunch of civilians in this death cube” and one guy is like “they have to use the death cube to justify the expense of building the death cube”.
